INEC 3 day training just concluded today at Okpoma Yala at Cross River State

The 3 day training of The Independent National Electoral Commission( INEC ) Ad-hoc staff has just concluded today at Christ The King Primary School Okpoma Yala LGA of Cross River State of Nigeria , with over 500 persons attended. franxbestnique.blogspot.com January 31 2019 Day 1, of the training, facilitators grouped their audience into their various categories; those categories are: 1. Corps member 2. Ex-corps member 3. Students of  federal and state tertiary institution 4. INEC omits candidates of APC in Zamfara State

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has omitted candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from the final list of candidates for governorship and State Assembly elections in Zamfara State. This was contained in a statement by the INEC national commissioner in charge of information and voter education, Festus Okoye, on Wednesday. “The commission has decided to maintain its original position that the party in question did not conduct primaries.” INEC had stopped the APC from presenting candidates in Zamfara for failing to meet the deadline to conduct primaries. The party leadership however disagreed with this and promised to field candidates but INEC stood its grounds. Following the decision, there were two conflicting judgments on whether APC conducted primaries within the stipulated time. While a High Court in Zamfara state said APC conducted primaries, a Federal High Court in the FCT said the governing party failed to conduct primaries within the stipulat

162 Nigerians deported from Libya

One hundred and sixty two Nigerians stranded in the North African country- Libya were on Wednesday deported. franxbestnique.blogspot. com They were returned home under an assistance programme facilitated by the International Organization of Migration (IOM) and National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA). The returnees comprising 100 females; including four pregnant women and 62 males arrived the cargo section of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos in the early hours aboard Libyan Airlines. Receiving the returnees, NEMA’s Coordinator, Lagos Territorial Office, Idris Muhammed said the profiling of the returnees shows they were 82 adult females; 13 female children and five female infants. He said there were 50 adult males, four male children; 13 male infants with two mionrs with medical case. The Coordinator while welcoming the Returnees urged them to be agents of positive change and take up the challenge against irregular migrations by telling whoever wants to embark
